MOT Type 1 is a crushed carboniferous limestone which is ideal for creating a hardcore base when laying patios, driveways and concrete bases, as well as many other domestic and commercial applications. This 40mm to dust hardcore will compact down well and is therefore the ideal product to use to create a solid foundation to start off your project. This versatile type one also meets the requirement of the department of transport specification for highway works. Bag sizes and coverage

Our construction aggregates are available in jumbo bulk bags, half bulk or 23kg small bags, which are ideal for smaller projects. 

• A full 850kg jumbo bulk bag will cover approximately 8-10m² at a depth of 50mm.
• A 450kg half bulk bag will cover approximately 4-5m² at a depth of 50mm.
• You'll need approximately three 23kg small bags to cover 1m² at a depth of 50mm.

Please note that these coverage measurements are approximate due to compaction of the stone. It's advisable to have at least a 100mm depth of hardcore, before compaction, when laying a patio or block paving.
