Installation & Care

AWBS recommend that all natural stone garden paving is laid on a 100mm hardcore base and a full bed of wet mortar at least 35-40mm deep to ensure long-term stability and performance. A minimum joint width of 10mm is required for pointing. Please read our comprehensive patio laying guide for step-by-step installation advice.
Sandstone is a naturally porous stone paving, meaning that variations in colour, weathering, efflorescence or iron spots may occur over time, this is perfectly normal. Natural stone paving can also benefit from sealing. For more information please read our paving cleaning guide.

A delivery service you can trust

At AWBS, our local deliveries are carried out using our own dedicated fleet of vehicles, operated by our experienced and fully trained delivery drivers, meaning a safe and efficient service. Keeping deliveries in-house means we maintain full control over handling, scheduling and service quality from the moment your order leaves us to the point it is delivered to you.
For larger or heavier materials, we typically use crane offload lorries, allowing controlled unloading on site and, where possible, placing your goods where you need them, helping to reduce manual handling on site. For smaller orders that do not require crane offload, we operate a fleet of flatbed vans that provide a flexible and reliable solution. This mixed vehicle fleet allows us to tailor each delivery to the type and size of your order, ensuring a smooth, professional service for both domestic and trade customers.
